When most runners get injured, it’s a drawn-out process. What starts as a little soreness or pain, quickly progresses into an injury that can have you missing weeks or months of training.
As a Physical Therapist, I typically see my runners cut mileage, space runs out, and take weeks off in hopes that their injury will magically disappear.
Unfortunately, once runners reach the point of taking time off and trying to run again, they are stuck. It often leaves the following questions:
- Why doesn’t time off seem to help?
- Why do I feel fine with everything BUT running
- What should I do instead of fully resting?
